I have read several A&J books. I read "The Cartel" in order to make sure I got the full effects (waiting on the last book). Murder Mamas was not what I anticipated. I thought this book would be more history of the Murder Mamas (that was "The Cartel 2). This book had very little to do with the Murder Mamas and that was a little disappointing to me. I would love to have read something extra about them, or a cliff hanger as to whether they are going back to look for Miamor. (yeah I know that will be in the The Cartel). I just think this book did not have the correct title. Aries was completely soft and messy in this book. I understand she had been out of the game for awhile, but somethings you just don't slop up. I didn't like the inconsistency with the story line. One minute Ace is at the top of his game and the next he is snorting lines of coke. This was never mentioned in the book anywhere. I think A&J can do much better than this. I don't know if it was a time crunch and they had to get the book to the publisher, but it was not as good as I've seen. There were several typo's, etc through out the book. I usually highlight or circle (with red pen) the errors in a book, because I think the editing staff should catch this if the author doesn't. But it was almost as if the author or the editing staff didnt catch any of the errors. If some were caught and corrected, then there were several, because this book had tons. I will continue to read A&J's work, because I think they are good authors, but I'm finding several of the books are repeats of previous books, and reading alot of the reviews some readers are speaking on it as well. Please guys take more time in your work and give your readers what we are craving, the best of A&J. You have a great fan base and I don't think you will lose any readers if your books take a little longer to come out. I prefer quality over quantity, and I think this was more quantity than quality. Just my opinion. I will continue to support. I will give this book 3 stars because I am a fan. I didn't want to give it a 2 because there were some parts that I did like, it was just more parts that I did not like.

I've been unintentionally sitting on this book since it came out and I see why. I was excited to learn that my second fave Murder Mama was going to be the lead (and only) member of the book, but that fell short. Aries wasn't necessarily a lead in the book. Coming to think about it, her character wasn't secondary either.Granted, she appeared here and there but the majority of the novel focused on Case, Macy, and Fatima. Their story line was usual for A&J and that's starting to irk me. I understand they're trying to write a certain amount of books before they reach the age of 30 or 35, but we shouldn't have to receive mediocre storylines that wasn't completely thought out in the process.Although I did finish the novel, I'm giving it 2.75 stars because of the storyline, the editing issues, the fact they called Case "Macy" a few times, and the confusing chapters that their "editor" didn't catch nor should have had to catch. A&J are too far in this game to be making grand mistakes like they did. Aries went from answering her phone for Case and entering the trap house to witness what she did, to her witnessing it before Case did and not answering his phone call. It was like they changed their mind but forgot to take the original scene out of the story. There was another incident with something like that but whatever.I was hoping to get a lot of more insight of Aries. Dig into her past as to why she decided to go the Murder Mama route, and had her being the main focus of this novel. I didn't either. I would be more okay with Case and Macy playing first base had the authors went more into Aries stalking Macy in the process.

The Authors of the Cartel are on a whole different level than other writers! I cannot get enough of their books! If you are contemplating reading anything from Ashley and JaQuavis ... don't hesitate any longer you will fall in love with their style! A friend recommended them to me and I am so glad she did!!! I am going down the list and will read ALL of their books!

Whoever thought we heard the last of the Murder Mamas in Cartel 3: The Last Chapter series, thought wrong! We are reintroduced and swiftly reminded who they are, what they do, and how they are the best at it. The two remaining members, Aries and Robyn have relocated to Los Angeles, and continue being contract killers. The girls seems to be doing fine without all of the group's original members, but then a huge job goes wrong. The girls' worlds are torn apart, and Aries goes on the run.We voyeuristically experience Aries putting her past behind her, and begin living a happy new life with her husband. Before long though, she is forced back to her old ways when her past reappears in her present. She might have decided to forget the past and it's problems, but that certainly doesn't mean her enemies have. Aries is still a Murder Mama in her core, and reverts back with ease. This time around, she has more to lose now than ever before and refuses to go down without a fight. As we are introduced to brand new characters and mingle with some we are familiar with, this read takes us on a fabulous ride of love, greed, envy, secrecy, back stabbing, and revenge. This book holds true to the entire Ashley & JaQuavis library of novels as it is also vivid, breathtaking, page-turning, shocking, edge of your seat, top of the line urban literature. I can't wait for the next installment!
